10 Tanga Experiences In 10 hours

Whether you're staying overnight or cruising over to the Resort for the day, Tangalooma has so much to offer! Here is our must-do list of 10 Tangalooma experiences to squeeze into 10 hours:

Cruise across Moreton Bay

Avoid the traffic jams and opt for a leisurely 75 minute cruise on our Tangalooma catamaran across beautiful Moreton Bay. We suggest you venture up to the top deck for the best views of Moreton Bay where you can get a glimpse of the local wildlife including pods of wild dolphins. Sailing up to the jetty you are greeted by beautiful Tangalooma beach and crystal clear waters. What a view!

ATV Quad Bikes

If you’re up for adventure there’s no better way to explore Moreton Island than by ATV Quad Bike. With the help of our professional guides you will be manoeuvring along the beach and through bushland trails like a pro. The view of the pristine blue water, native bushland and soft white sand is unbelievable. Make sure to bring your camera so your guide can take a quick photo.

Enjoying an Ice Cream

Who can go past cold ice-cream on a hot Summer’s day? If your craving something sweet, Tangalooma’s huge double scoop ice-creams won’t disappoint with chocolate, vanilla or rainbow flavours just to name a few.

Beach Bikes to the Wrecks

One of the most iconic sights to see while visiting Moreton Island are the Tangalooma Wrecks, fifteen vessels that create an amazing snorkel and dive site. Our favourite way to travel to the wrecks is by beach bike, with their large 'spider' tyres these bikes are designed to ride easily along the sand and make getting to the wrecks quick and fun!

Beach Volleyball

Set it up and spike it down! If your friends and family are feeling competitive why not grab a ball from the friendly crew at Tanga Tours and play a game of beach Volleyball. The volleyball net’s are permanently set up so pick your best team members and get into the action.

2kg Tomohawk Steak

Feeling hungry? Our Tomohawk steak will stop your hunger in its tracks. The 2kg mouth-watering signature steak is designed to be shared with friends and is available from the Copper Grill

Desert Safari Tour

Feel the need...the need for speed? Take a journey to the Tangalooma Desert and experience the thrill of a Toboggan ride down the sand dunes, reaching speeds of up to 40km per hour! Fun for the whole family.

Kookaburra Feeding

Moreton Island has an abundance of beautiful wild animals including Pelicans and Kookaburra that like to visit the resort on a regular basis. Our qualified Tangalooma Eco Rangers run daily talks and feeding sessions so our guests can get up close and learn about the natural wildlife that surrounds the resort.

The Best Sunsets

The sunsets at Tangalooma are one of a kind! Watch the sun slowly set over uninterrupted views across Moreton Bay, with the Glasshouse Mountains visible in the distance. Enjoy a cold beer from the Tangalooma Bar and free live music – what better way to relax after a fun filled day. Make sure you have your camera or smart phone ready to capture the amazing colours in the afternoon sky.

Wild Dolphins

A highlight of any visit to Tangalooma has to watching the wild bottlenose dolphins swim into the shores each evening. There are up to 13 of these playful creatures that visit regularly, each with their own distinctive and unique personalities. The excitement can be felt along the jetty as the guest gather round. The dolphins have been visiting the resort since 1992 and it is an extraordinary experience to see them in their wild habitat.
