Males fight over a female Humpback

20 Humpbacks delighted guests on today's whale watch cruise! All the sighted pods were heading north, en route to the Whitsundays.

At the start, we watched a mother-calf pair enjoying the waters of Moreton Bay Marine Park. We then sighted more pods near Cape Moreton, where one of the pods was full of competitive males and a female. The males were all charging at fast speeds for access over a female. They all bumped into each other and were quite aggressive. The fittest male will win, and therefore mate with the female.
