Nothing could stop todays show

No stopping the show from these Humpback Whales

The Tangalooma Jet is Australia's largest dedicated whale watching vessel, and today that came to our advantage. There was a bit of choppy water but being a tri-hulled thirty meter vessel we were the only boat we could see out on the water in these conditions. Luckily due to our boat's size we were incredibly stable unlike the energetic whales!

Today the calves once again stole the show! With one calf tail slapping at least 30 times in a row followed by an acrobatic display of peduncle throws, head lunges and even breaching. Not to be out done by the youngster the mature adult then launched itself 100% out of the water, rotating 180 degrees before creating a huge wall of white water.

We were spoiled for choice having had close encounters with 19 whales (9 Adults, 3 Juveniles and 7 Calves) and there was many more out in the distance. For anyone who hasn't been whale watching before you couldn't have a better time to give it a go.
