Whales still heading up north towards Whitsundays

We started off the weekend with a big splash on today's whale watch cruise, with 17 Humpback whale sightings! The cruise began with a mother-calf pair, where the calf performed many fantastic little breaches! We moved from pod to pod throughout the day and soon discovered three juvenile Humpbacks. These Humpbacks seemed to like us as they approached closer and surfaced right under the bow of the Tangalooma Jet! One of these juveniles soon showed off its belly as it rolling onto its backside, right next to us.

We then continued our journey and soon discovered a super pod! We counted eight very large Humpbacks traveling together in this pod. They were all charging very fast throughout the waters of Moreton Bay Marine Park, and were still on their way to the Whitsundays.
