Humpback whale deep dives

The Humpbacks enjoyed their deep dives on today's whale watch cruise! It all began with heaps of pods near Flinders reef, that were elusive with their amazing dives. Across the horizon, we continued to see whales raising their tails up in the air. One of the observed whale pods was quite surface-active, with one of the Humpbacks performing spy hop after spy hop! A spy hop occurs when the whale pokes its head out the surface of the water, to see what is happening above the water surface.

While we watched the whales, 3 very curious bottlenose dolphins surfaced next to the whales and Tangalooma Jet. It was incredible to see both whales and dolphins out in Moreton Bay Marine Park today!
