Moreton Bay Humpback Whales

On today's whale watch we were lucky to see 10 Humpback Whales, which included some very small calves. We were lucky enough to spot 4 whales resting off from Cowan Cowan. Whales and dolphins rest by shutting down half their brain at a time as they need half to be active so they remember to come to the surface for a breath.

We also found a couple of breaching whales but as we came closer they were a bit shy and swam away.

We then found a mother with a  very tiny calf that were taking a break in the bay while the mother fed her calf. After they headed back out of the bay to head back on their migration path. That brought today's total to 10 Humpback Whales, including 6 adults, 1 juvenile and 3 calves sighted.
