From mid June through to the end of October, the waters surrounding Moreton Island offer the perfect Whale Watching experience. Being the closest point from Brisbane to see these gentle giants, Moreton Island is central to the migratory track of the increasing numbers of Humpback Whales that travel up and down the East Coast of Australia each year. During the migration season, up to six thousand humpback whales migrate past Moreton Island, allowing the opportunity to see these remarkable creatures up close.
