Position in Pod: Echo is the orphan on the group and therefore does not fit into the family tree, however now he is accepted as part of the family. He often hangs out with Rani (male of similar age).

History: Echo first came into Tangalooma in June '93 by himself and was estimated to be 6mths - 1 year old (and assumed to be an orphan).
2/5/96 Echo arrived into feed are with a large wound to the left lateral side on and below his dorsal fin. This was as a result of a shark attack of which Echo still has the scar today.
4/4/02 Echo brought in a large octopus into the feed area.

ID Features:    Echo is one of the easiest dolphins to ID because of the prominent scar down the left hand side of his dorsal fin.

Personality/traits: Echo loves attention and likes to show off in front of the guests sitting on the jetty. Echo often does spy hops (lifting head vertically out of the water) looking up at the guests.
