Born 27th August 2004
This
is Tinkerbell's second calf, Storm. Tangles her
first born 20/9/2000 is doing extremely well. Tinkerbell
was the second calf born to Beauty.

Born 7th September 2004
This
is Shadow's first born as she has only just reached
sexual maturity being 10 years old. Shadow was born
in the early days of the program in 1994. She was
the third known calf of Beauty.

Both calves are doing extremely well and are now
attending the program along mothers side on a regular
basis.
- Even
at such a young age, we can already tell the two
calves apart; Silhouette is definitely a lot darker
in colour
- The
calves were born with their length measured at 90cm
(average is about 95cm).
- The
calves will not be fed as part of the Tangalooma
program until they are at least 2 years of age,
allowing them to develop their hunting techniques.
Unfortunately, the survival rate for first-born
dolphin calves in the wild is only around 20%, but
to date the program maintains a 100% survival rate
of all calves & orphans.
