As the dolphins that visit Tangalooma are wild animals, we do not touch them. Guests first make their way to the beach after the briefing by one of our Marine Biologists. Here, they disinfect their hands and are given fish by our Dolphin Care Team. They then wade into the water to about knee depth. The dolphins swim up to the guests and take the fish from their hands. Swimming with or touching the dolphins is not allowed as we try to minimise stress on the dolphins and to keep the animals as wild as possible. We also recommend a change of clothes for this activity for guests returning to Brisbane after dolphin feeding, as you may wade into water waist deep.
