Southern Moreton Island and Oyster Farm Tour
Departing southbound, relax back on our 4WD bus safari tour. Enjoy commentary from our local guide and discover the diverse terrain while heading through beach and bush to the southern end of Moreton Island.
First stop - Lucinda Bay, breeding ground of the Moreton Bay soldier crab. Watch hundreds of soldier crabs crawl the beach and scurry for water.
Second stop - Sand flats, BIG sand hills and little sand hills; not sure if there is any other place quite like this, with views of sand for miles. Passing beside Midden Heeps, learn of the sacred aboriginal areas of the Ngui tribe that inhabited this area for thousands of years.
Final stop - The Toulkerrie Oyster Farm. Walk by the mangroves and mudflats and see a working oyster farm in action. Learn how to shuck your own oyster before sampling some prepared in five ways by the local chef.
Includes lunch and a glass of bubbles or beer.
