Here at Tangalooma we are privileged to have a myriad of beautiful and unique creatures living right in our backyard. From the spectacular Humpback whales that migrate past during winter, to the tiny marine turtles that scurry down to the shoreline after hatching, the diversity of Moreton Bay is truly incredible.
Unfortunately, we also encounter many sick and injured animals, often as a direct result of human influences. Entanglements in fishing line or discarded fishing nets, abandoned crab pots, plastic bags or even fishing hooks are just some of the issues these animals face on a regular basis. Here at the Education Centre we are very passionate about the protection of our marine widlife and regularly assist with a variety of animal rescues, including dolphins, turtles and birds.
