The Perfect Family Day Trip

Stuck of ideas of what to do with the kids and family these Christmas holidays? Don’t want to spend the holidays doing the same old things – going to the movies, going shopping, going to theme parks or going to the same old beach? Then it’s time you experienced something entirely different, that you won’t regret – Tangalooma Island Resort.

The perfect family and friends activity happening these Christmas holidays, and all year round, is a day trip to Tangalooma Island Resort. Tangalooma Island Resort is located on Moreton Island. It is only a short boat trip through the prestigious Moreton bay, making the perfect Brisbane day trip. Tangalooma offer an island pass where you get unlimited return day cruise transfers to Tangalooma, up to 7 hours at the resort, and access to over 40 free tours and activities.

There is so much do to on Tangalooma Island, it is almost impossible to fit it all into one day. Yet, there are a few things that you must do if you’re coming over just for the day. Whale watching is a must – there is nothing better than seeing these wonderful sea mammals playing in their natural habitat.

Another activity that is highly enjoyed by all visitors is the snorkelling at the wrecks. You can either hire the snorkelling gear and wonder over to the wrecks yourself, or Tangalooma do offer snorkel the wreck tours where you will be taken on a guided snorkelling tour of the wrecks.

If you’re on a Brisbane day trip, you can’t go past the desert safari tour, where you will be taken on a journey deep into Moreton Island to the Tangalooma desert, where you can then participate in sand tobogganing.

Speaking of land based activities; there is also the ATV quad bike tour. This tour allows you to drive a quad bike yourself, and you are guided around Tangalooma resort, up into the hills, and all along the beach. The best time to do this is when the sun is setting over the water – makes for a magical experience.

And of course, there is the dolphin feeding, which if you plan to stay till the last cruise leaves, you can’t miss out on this experience. The dolphin feeding gives participants the opportunity to hand feed the wild dolphins. This occurs most nights at around 7pm.

As you can see, Tangalooma have some pretty exhilarating and exciting activities that differ to your regular holiday experiences. So, experience something different these school holidays, and come and enjoy everything Tangalooma has to offer through one of their Brisbane day trips and island passes.
