Position in Pod:First arriving to the feeding program as an orphan in June of 1993, Echo does not belong to either of the Tangalooma family trees. Having formed a strong bond with Rani, the two are almost always seen arriving and departing the feed together. Echo feeds in Lane 1 with Rani's younger brother, Nari.
History: When Echo arrived at the feed alone and without a mother to care for him, he was obviously malnourished, and staff were concerned for his very survival. Providing him with fish to compensate for the lack of mother's milk, Echo was soon taken under old Freddy's wing before being accepted by the remaining Tangalooma dolphins.
ID Features:In 1996, Echo arrived to the feed with a large shark bite wound, an encounter which his dorsal fin still bears evidence of today. A long, straight scar now extends down the left hand side of his distinctively triangular fin. The shape and markings of Echo's fin make him the most easily identifiable of the dolphins at Tangalooma.
Personality/traits:Echo loves attention! Being extremely curious and inquisitive, he often turns on his side to look at the guests up on the jetty. Echo, Nari and Rani share a close bond and are rarely seen apart.
