Birth Date: 1st August, 2008.

Position in Pod: Phoenix is Tinkerbell's third calf, Phoenix is the second youngest dolphin to visit Tangalooma, being just 6 weeks older than her cousin Zephyr.

History: Like all dolphin calves, Phoenix is very curious about the world around her and is frequently observed playing with sticks, algae and other pieces of debris in the water.

ID Features: With a curved dorsal fin just like her mum Tinkerbell and older sister Tangles, Phoenix's fin is very different to her little cousin Zephyr's fin, making the two quite easy to tell apart. Her small size makes her immediately identifiable as one of the calves, easily distinguishing her from the other dolphins in the pod.

Personality/traits: Inquisitive by nature, Phoenix spends most of her time playing with her cousin Zephyr, practising their hunting skills as they catch small pufferfish hidden amongst the sand of the feed area. Once the fish puff themselves up, the two calves can often be seen tossing the small fish to one another in a game of 'pufferfish tennis'!
