Position in Pod: Tinkerbell's second calf and Tangles' younger brother, Storm feeds next to his younger cousin Silhouette in Lane 5.
History: Storm was the first calf to be born since his older sister Tangles had arrived four years earlier. Recently celebrating his fifth birthday, Storm is the third dolphin at Tangalooma to suffer a fishing line entanglement, getting his tail caught in a length of line in October of last year.
ID Features:For a male dolphin, Storm is still quite small and has yet to go through a major growth spurt! His fin is quite unique in shape, halfway between his mother's curve shaped fin and the wedge-like shape more typical of our adult males. In August of this year, Storm received his first major 'notch' to the trailing edge of his fin.
Personality/traits:It has been fascinating to watch Storm develop from a small calf, initially very dependent on his mum Tinkerbell, to a confident young subadult. He is now regularly seen arriving to the feed on his own, indicating he may have joined another pod of youngsters out in the bay.
