If you are planning to arrive prior to check-in time or depart the resort after 10am, we are happy for our guests to use our resort facilities. In such instances we encourage guests to pack a small daypack of essentials (including change of clothes for activities/swimming etc) to ensure you can go without your checked-luggage. Checked luggage which will be delivered to your door when your room is available (if you have travelled on our boat transfers in your booking). Guests who have arranged alternative transport arrangements must note that we are unable to provide assistance with their luggage on arrival and can store their luggage in rented lockers until check-in time.

Should the Resort become aware of a booking that is of this nature, the booking will be cancelled and full cancellation terms will then apply.
  8. Tangalooma recommends that all travellers obtain travel insurance against cancellations or amendment fees, theft, loss or damage of personal luggage and effects as well as providing sufficient medical cover. If you are unable to travel for medical reasons, weather events, flight cancellations or any other reasons, refunds will not be given.
  9. 'Force Majeure' Limitations - A 'Force Majeure' Event means any event or circumstance beyond Tangalooma Island Resort’s control, including but not limited to: an act of God (such as earthquake, flood, fire, explosion, landslide, lightning, action of the elements, force of nature, washout, cyclone, tsunami, storm or storm warning or natural disaster);industrial disputes, work ban or other labour dispute or difficulty; acts of terrorism, political unrest, war or threat of war, riots or civil strife; closure of airports or ports; pandemic, epidemic or health risk; governmental and administrative actions (including closure of borders and travel warning and restrictions). If a 'Force Majeure Event' does occur causing you to cancel or amend your travel, we reserve the right to amend standard cancellation & refund terms. In such circumstances Tangalooma Island Resort at it's sole discretion will either (a) Process a refund less an administrative fee of 20% of all prepaid monies (less credit card surcharges) to a maximum value of AUD$100; or (b) Convert all prepaid monies to a Resort Credit of the same value. Resort Credits may be redeemed against the cost of a new booking provided by Tangalooma Island Resort, departing at any time within 24 months of your cancellation but is not redeemable for cash. If the new trip or departure is more expensive than the Resort Credit you are responsible for the difference in price; if the new trip or departure is less expensive than the Resort Credit, a new Resort Credit will be issued for the difference.
  10. Over many decades the Resort has enjoyed a high attendance-rate of wild dolphins visiting the Resort at sunset on most evenings. However, the dolphin feeding program does involves wild animals, and as such Tangalooma cannot guarantee the attendance of dolphins at the scheduled evening feeding event due to possible environmental and animal-behavioral issues beyond the Resort’s control. As such any accommodation or day cruise package inclusion of Dolphin Feeding or Dolphin Viewing is classified as a guest reservation (only) to attend the dolphin feeding area and participate in feeding or viewing subject to the event proceeding as scheduled. If the evening dolphin feeding event cannot go ahead for any reason, guests will unfortunately forfeit their opportunity to redeem this inclusion. The Dolphin Feeding Program operates to strict guidelines, therefore restrictions on feeding apply. The number of guests able to feed the dolphins is dependent on the number of wild dolphins in attendance; coupled with additional safety, weather, tidal, animal welfare and regulatory restrictions. All guests on overnight accommodation packages with a dolphin feeding inclusion have a reservation to feed a dolphin on one night of their stay only. Wherever possible Tangalooma encourages guests to participate in dolphin feeding on the first night of their stay, so that they can be rebooked (subject to availability) onto a subsequent night of their stay should the dolphin feeding be unable to proceed on that first night. Please note that the Wild Dolphin Feeding Experience is not included in "Run of House" accommodation bookings. Guests without Dolphin feeding inclusions may watch the nightly event from general unreserved public areas of the Tangalooma Jetty subject to capacity, and staff-directed restrictions.

Cruise Ship Arrivals and Special Events: The Resort has a number of  high volume events throughout the year such as conferences, events, film shoots, tourism activations, cruise ship arrivals and large group bookings that can increase the level of guests on the island at any given time. Whilst we reserve some inventory of tours and activities for inhouse guests on these days, some of the regular activities may be limited in availability due to high demand. To avoid disappointment we encourage guests to book these activities on days other than the day the cruise ships visit. The Resort reserves the right to activate high-volume visitation events at any time without notice, but will make efforts to minimise disruption on guest services and access during these times. For more information and indicative dates of Cruise Ship arrivals at the Resort visit https://www.tangalooma.com/cruiseships

Not all requests can be met and there are occasions where due to unforeseen circumstances that some services / activities / inclusions / products are not available or get disrupted, and as such alternate arrangements/products may need to be considered or substituted. If you are not sure please contact our reservations team (reservations@tangalooma.com) well prior to check-in at Tangalooma Island Resort or its launch transportation.

Substitution of property and price changes:
At times, situations arise over which we have no control such as ownership changes, extensive repairs or maintenance, or if properties are removed from the holiday rental market. We reserve the right to offer guests alternate accommodation of a similar standard, as available, at our discretion. In the unlikely event, we will notify you as soon as possible and make every reasonable effort to ensure you are satisfied. We cannot guarantee accommodation and, should an alternative not be found by our team, you will be refunded in full, and you agree to accept this as final resolution.

Drone Usage:
Guest use of Drones or Remotely Piloted Aircraft on the resort property, Holt St Wharf, on Resort transportation vehicles & vessels, or on tours operated by the resort is restricted by the conditions of the resort Drone Policy; as well as other statutory laws governing use of such aircraft in the vicinity of the resort, adjacent national/marine parks, and generally on Moreton Island.
