Perfect Weather for Moreton Bay Whale Watching
We couldn't have asked for better weather to start the week off on today's whale watching cruise, with seas as flat as paved roads it was not hard to spot these majestic creatures. We didn't have to wait long before encountering our first pod, which were incredibly relaxed around the Tangalooma Jet as they displayed their large glowing white bellies rolling over as if to soak up the sun! We were very lucky to be close to a mature adult as it surfaced exhaling so forcefully it made a trumpeting roar! As we pulled away we were given one last pectoral wave as if to say farewell!
There was also a short glimpse of a Hammerhead Shark and 2 separate pods of Inshore Bottlenose Dolphins.
It was incredible to witness the size and power of 5 whales in a single pod and in the coming weeks we can expect to see the whales entering the bay as they make their migration back down to the Antarctic.
