What is Sichuan Cuisine?

Sichuan Cuisine is a style of Chinese cuisine originating in the Sichuan Province of Southwestern China, which has an international reputation for being spicy, hot and sometimes mouth numbing! This spice comes from the common Sichuan Peppercorn, used in many dishes. Combinations of Sichuan Peppercorns and Dried Chili are key ingredients to many types of dishes which are used to add flavour and colour to the meal. It is not recommended that you consume these peppercorns and dried chilis as they will overpower the flavour of the dish - they are designed to add in the cooking process but not to be directly consumed.

Customise the Spice

The typical 'spice level' of each dish is indicated throughout the menu by the chili icons. Many people prefer different levels of spiciness to their dish and we are happy to cater to your requirments and 'tone down' dishes as requested.
