ABC Radio tunes in to Tangalooma Island Resort

On Friday 29 October (Brisbane's postponed Ekka Show Day Public Holiday), Tangalooma Island Resort were delighted to welcome Craig Zonca & Loretta Ryan as they hosted their morning show, 'Breakfast' LIVE from the stunning beaches of the resort!

The broadcast coincided with Daniel Morcombe Foundation's 'Day for Daniel', Australia's largest child safety education and awareness day. To fundraise for this worthy cause, Tangalooma guests were encouraged to visit the Waterfront Pavilion, where the live broadcast was held, enjoy a breakfast BBQ with the team and donate a gold coin for 'Day for Daniel'.

Craig & Loretta checked in the day before so they could enjoy all the resort has to offer, taking the time to be entertained by some of Tangalooma's must-do wild animal experiences, including dolphin and kookaburra feeding, and Tangalooma's sightseeing and fish-feeding cruise. Audiences were able to relive these encounters during the broadcast as well as hear all about the history of the world-leading Tangalooma Wild Dolphin Feeding program.

A range of interviews were held during the morning, including with Moreton Island's famed oyster farmers and a variety of Tangalooma staff. Penny Limbach, General Manager of Tangalooma EcoMarines, discussed the importance of teaching students about conservation; and Director of Marketing Bernie O'Keefe overviewed the current state of the tourism industry and what to expect in the coming months and years as Australia opens back up. Listeners also heard about the history of Tangalooma and its beginnings as a whaling station from one of our experienced Eco Rangers. Moreton Island's dedicated cane toad detection dog, Reggie, even made an appearance!

Check out some of the photos from the day below - thanks ABC Radio for coming over!
