Global LENS Australia Schools Event

Global LENS Australia (formerly Global Link Australia) is an international student forum where young leaders from around the world come together to explore critical environmental, cultural, and social challenges. Centered on its core pillars of Leadership, Environment, Networking, and Sustainability (LENS), the forum empowers students to share ideas, build cross-cultural connections, and take real steps toward a more sustainable world through competition-style research presentations, interactive experiences, and cultural exchange.
Approaching it's seventh year, the event allows students from different cultures and backgrounds to connect with like-minded peers and develop their leadership, presentation, critical-thinking and bilingual skills.

In 2026, 32 school teams from 10 countries came together across our Junior and Senior divisions at Tangalooma to share ideas, collaborate across cultures and explore solutions to real-world environmental challenges.

PROJECT-BASED
LEARNING
Dive into real-world sustainability challenges with practical, problem-solving activities.
HONE VALUABLE
SKILLS
Develop leadership, teamwork, critical-thinking and presentation skills. Students work together to tackle significant issues, through discussing and exchanging opinions.
GLOBAL
CITIZENSHIP
Enhance understanding of environmental stewardship and global sustainability and meet new friends who gather from around the world.
The Competition
Teams from participating schools will compete by presenting innovation solutions to a real-world sustainability challenge.
This encourages students to research and analyse environmental issues and develop and pitch actionable solutions, showcasing their findings to a panel of judges.
Don’t Forget the Fun!
Making waves is hard work, so the Global LENS package also includes plenty of fun! Once the big ideas have been presented to expert judges, students get to enjoy some of our most popular Tangalooma adventures, including a whale watch cruise, sandboarding the dunes on the desert safari, the Banana Life Eco Challenge and getting up close and personal with wild dolphins at the wild dolphin feeding experience. There’s plenty of free time to make friends from around the world too, and students should bring their best singing voices for the ultimate Karaoke night!
