Whale breach and tail on today's cruise
17 Humpback whales were sighted on today's whale watch cruise! All of these whales were on a mission and heading up north. They didn't seem all that social from pod to pod, as we mainly watched them surfacing, with minimal behaviours. However, we were lucky to see a breach and one of the whales raising its tail in the air! Another whale was milling near the front right side of the bow of the Jet, so guests got to have a closer look at it resting! We also saw two different pods of inshore bottlenose dolphins swimming alongside the whales today.
Today's the last day of the first month of whale watching and we've seen 146 Humpback whales along with hammerhead sharks, green sea turtles and plenty of dolphins. Here at Tangalooma, we're so excited for the upcoming months of whale watching on Australia's largest dedicated whale watching vessel!
