5 Humpback Whales seen in moreton bay

What a fantastic day out on the second Whale Watch of the 2017 season! Guests on board the Tangalooma Jet were lucky enough to see 5 Humpback Whales, including 1 adult and 4 juveniles! The whales we observed today still had a long journey ahead of them and were definitely on a mission to get up north as fast as possible. Humpback Whales are energetic mammals, as they migrate a total distance of 16,000 km return from Antarctica north to the warm tropical waters of the Whitsundays! This migration starts in April every year, and ends in November.  For the first few months of the whale watch season, we will mostly see the whales heading north to the Whitsundays!

Other splendid marine life joined us out on the whale watch cruise, with three Green Sea Turtles and a pod of Bottlenose Dolphins enjoying the waters of Moreton Bay Marine Park!
