Tangalooma unaffected by floods

Tangalooma Island Resort is open for business, unscathed by the effects of floods that this week inundated parts of Brisbane City.

Marketing director Penny Limbach said because Tangalooma was located on an island well offshore, resort operations had been largely unaffected.

“We are so fortunate to be in this position, away from the floods,” Ms Limbach said.

“Throughout the ordeal, it has been business as usual for us, with the only change being made to our ferry arrivals and departures.

"For now we are launching from Redcliffe, just north of Brisbane, due to the amount of debris flowing down the Brisbane River.

"This helps to keep our guests safe and our vessels out of harm’s way.

“Brisbane Airport is open, so international and domestic visitors are still able to keep to their travel plans.”

Ms Limbach said anyone planning a visit to Tangalooma can be reassured that the resort is able provide the same high-quality experience that it is renowned for.

“If people are worried, they can keep up to date with the latest Tangalooma news via our facebook and Twitter sites,” she said.
