Frequently Asked Questions:
Welcome to the Tangalooma Dunes Cabana Club FAQs.
About the Tangalooma Dunes Cabana Club
The answers below are indicative and subject to change. As the precinct is currently under construction and our final product offerings are still being conceived, these FAQs will continue to evolve as the Cabana Club takes shape pre and post-launch.
What is the new Beachfront Cabana Club?
The Tangalooma Dunes Cabana Club is Australia's first year-round beachfront cabana club, located on Tangalooma Beach on the western side of Moreton Island. Comprising an exclusive collection of just 20 cabanas, the precinct bridges the gap between island adventure and elevated relaxation. Each private retreat features comfortable lounge seating and access to a simple and understated food and beverage service. It is designed to be the ultimate space to unwind in comfort while enjoying stunning views over one of Australia's best beaches (as voted by Lonely Planet).
Where exactly within the resort is the Cabana Club located?
The precinct is situated on our manicured lawns, nestled on the sand dunes overlooking the beach. Unlike other beach club concepts, we do not overtake the beach itself but sit perched right on the very edge. It is conveniently located between the two main resort pools, which sit at each end of the precinct, and provides very close access to bathrooms and showers. You will also find it just a short distance from the Watersports Hub, making it easy to get involved in a range of fun activities and tours on the water. It’s also an easy walk to the Resort Centre, which serves as the hub for food and beverage outlets. Entirely located within the resort's boundary, it is highly accessible from the main resort facilities while remaining distinct and separated enough to provide an exclusive yet relaxed atmosphere.
What is the atmosphere like at the Cabana Club?
The Cabana Club offers a quintessentially Australian experience that is sophisticated and elevated, but never pretentious. It’s a relaxed, uncrowded sanctuary where the natural beauty of Moreton Island really sets the tone. Expect warm, approachable service and an atmosphere that feels like a chilled down-to-earth beach escape, where shoes are definitely optional.
Who is the Cabana Club designed for?
The Cabana Club is the ultimate space to unwind in-between a day of island adventures, and it caters for a variety of guests. It’s perfect for couples seeking the ultimate date day providing a romantic private setting to relax and reconnect. It’s an easy, social set-up for groups of friends celebrating or enjoying a beach day. Families will also find it ideal, as parents and kids can stay comfortable in abundant shade while kids have the freedom to run freely between the cabana and the beach. Where the calm crystal-clear waters are super family friendly, especially for the little ones!
Booking & Availability
Who can access the Cabana Club? Can day trippers book them?
Access is exclusively reserved for guests of Tangalooma Island Resort. Whether you are staying overnight in our resort accommodation or travelling on an official Tangalooma Island Resort Day Trip, you can complement your visit by packaging a cabana with your itinerary. Carnival Cruise Line guests visiting Tangalooma will also be able to secure their spot, with bookings available directly through their cruise ship as part of their official shore excursion itinerary. Additionally, the precinct will be made available for exclusive hire or partial use, making it the perfect setting for private events, celebrations, and corporate activations.
How do I book a private cabana, and how far in advance can I book?
While pricing, packaging, and booking windows will be finalised in the coming months, reserving your space will be seamless. Bookings will be available directly via the www.tangalooma.com booking engine on this website where you can add a cabana as an optional extra when booking your accommodation or day cruise package online. For those looking to host a function, dedicated booking options for conferences, corporate activations, and private events will also be available, these are booked though our Events Team.
What are the session times and operational hours?
Initially, we will be offering one full-day booking session per cabana, this ensures you can relax without feeling rushed. As the precinct matures, we plan to introduce more flexible options to incorporate multiple shorter booking sessions per day. All exact timing details will be finalised in the weeks and months ahead.
Pricing & Inclusions
How much does it cost to hire a cabana, and what is included?
While pricing, packaging, and booking windows will be finalised in the coming months, we can share that each spacious cabana will comfortably accommodate a maximum of eight guests. This makes it the perfect base for your Tangalooma beach day with friends and family. The hire includes premium amenities such as beach towels, lock-up facilities, and climate control via ceiling fans and shutters, all paired with uninterrupted views of Tangalooma Beach. An understated food and beverage service will also be made available to guests.
Is there a minimum food and beverage spend required?
For our standard daytime sessions, there are no plans to introduce a mandatory minimum spend beyond the initial hire fee. We do aim to offer curated food and beverage packages that will allow for seamless additional inclusions, and any such options and costs will be clearly displayed at the time of booking.
