Cruising to a white-sand island for the day might seem like a far off dream but with quick and easy ferry transfers across Moreton Bay, Tangalooma Island Resort will give you that overseas feeling right in Brisbane’s backyard. 

The Resort is the perfect family day trip for those seeking unique adventures and nature based experiences with tons of activities and tours to choose from.

Travelling with a family can be tricky at the best of times so we’ve compiled this easy one day itinerary of ‘must do’ Tangalooma activities to make your day perfect from sunrise to sunset.

10am Tangalooma Boat Cruise

Conveniently located 15mins from Brisbane’s CBD is our Holt Street Wharf. Avoid the traffic, park your car and relax as our expert skippers cruise you and your family across pristine Moreton Bay. Keep your eye out for dolphins and dugongs as your sail across the turquoise waters to an island paradise, whilst enjoing a complimentary drink (included on your Day Cruise ticket). 

11:15am Arrive at Tangalooma Island Resort

As soon as you step off the boat and see the glistening clear water, you’ll feel as though you’ve left all your problems at home! You’re on island time now.

11:30am Lunch (vouchers included)

To make things easy, lunch vouchers are included in your day cruise package and to be used at any open food outlet. Take a seat in the Resort Centre or opt for take away and enjoy a relaxed lunch in our lush gardens. Every Day Cruise to Tangalooma includes a Food & Beverage voucher to use at any of our open outlets ($20 Adult/$15 Child)

01:00pm Snorkel the Wrecks Tour

Get set to discover one of Australia’s best snorkeling locations set among sunken shipwrecks. This snorkel and dive site is home to a large variety of different species of reef fish, coral formations and marine life and you’ll only uncover them by getting in the water! All snorkel equipment including wetsuits, fins/flippers, mask, snorkel and life jackets are included. On Selected Tangalooma Day Cruise packages the Wrecks Snorkel Tour is included in the price.

03:45pm Scenic Helicopter Flight (from $90pp)

Savour a bird’s eye view of Tangalooma and Moreton Island with the whole family. Hit up the team at the Tangalooma Heli Hut on arrival to see if you can squeeze an available flight it into you packed itinerary. Enjoy a helicopter's aerial perspective of the wonders of the Island including the Tangalooma Wrecks, sand dunes, Cape Moreton and more! A memory that will last a lifetime.

4:00pm Quad Bike Tour ($80pp) 10 years and above.

Time to jump on our ATV Quad Bikes and experience some of the best dedicated tracks in Australia with views of Moreton Bay to take your breath away. Our professional guides will assist you regardless of your experience, providing you with basic bush track training so you can tackle our tracks with ease. Check with the team at Tours Desk upon arrival to check availability and book.

4:45pm Ice Cream Break

No trip to the beach in Queensland is complete without an ice cold ice-cream. The best summer selections can be found at the Coffee Lounge.

5:00pm Beach Volleyball (free)

Still have some energy to burn? Why not get the family involved in a fun game of beach volleyball. The nets are conveniently placed on the beach in front of the Resort Centre.

5:30pm Dinner

Time to recharge those batteries and enjoy a meal before the action-packed day comes to an end. With a large selection of family meal options, there's something to tempt everyone from oven-hot, made-to-order pizzas, burgers, salads, seafood platters and more...

5:30pm Sunset

Tangalooma is incredibly lucky to one of the very few sunset over water locations on the Australian East Coast. Our sunsets are famous. Make sure you have your camera ready to capture one of the world's most stunning views!

7:00pm Wild Dolphin Feeding

The highlight of any visit to Tangalooma is the opportunity to hand feed one of the wild bottlenose dolphins that visit the shores each evening at sunset.  It’s truly magical to experience this intelligent and playful creatures up close. Wild Dolphin feeding is an included activity on selected Day Cruise Packages.

8:00pm (approx.) Return Boat Back to Brisbane
