Queensland Rugby partners with Tangalooma Island Resort

The Queensland Rugby Union (QRU) are pleased to welcome Tangalooma Island Resort as an official partner of Queensland Rugby.

The partnership will provide the Queensland Reds with a stunning location for pre-season training camps, located just 75-minutes from the coast of Brisbane on the idyllic Moreton Island.

QRU General Manager - Commercial Operations Malcolm Watts said: “We’re proud to partner with another great Queensland company in Tangalooma.

“This agreement will provide our players and the Queensland Rugby community with the chance to experience one of Queensland’s finest tourist destinations, and we’re looking forward to embracing Tangalooma and its many attractions.”

Tangalooma Island Resort Director of Marketing Bernie O’Keefe said: “The local community has been holidaying at Tangalooma Island Resort for generations, and as a proud Queensland family-owned business, we have always strived to give back to the very communities that have supported us through thick-and-thin.

“This ‘strength in community’ is perfectly represented in the traits of the Queensland Rugby community. From the grassroots level right through to professional ranks, there is a collective pride, strength, resilience and selfless commitment that contributes enormously to the fabric of clubs and towns across the state.

“Underpinning all these traits is a dedication to having a good time in the process, generating the characters and memories we collectively cherish.

“Tangalooma Island Resort celebrates these traits of the Queensland Rugby family and are committed to growing the great communities of Queensland through this partnership.”

Tangalooma is the perfect family holiday destination, offering unique and adventurous nature experiences, including the once in a lifetime opportunity to hand feed a pod of wild bottlenose dolphins at sunset.

From snorkelling the famous Tangalooma Wrecks to ATV quad bike tours and whale watching cruises, the resort offers something for everyone on Brisbane’s doorstep.

Tangalooma is a short 75-minute ferry ride from the Holt Street Wharf Terminal, with several daily departures making it easy to reach what is the only resort on Moreton Island, the third largest sand island in the world.
