Tangalooma welcomes 2032 Brisbane Olympics

With Brisbane named as the official host city of the 2032 Olympic Games on Wednesday 21 July, Tangalooma Island Resort is gearing up for a valuable and much needed tourism boost in the lead up to the Games.

Set upon the golden shores of Moreton Island and well loved by both domestic and international tourists alike for its amazing array of unique tours and activities including the opportunity to handfeed wild dolphins at sunset, Tangalooma is the perfect getaway – so close yet seemingly a world away from the excitement of the events, just perfect for some downtime.  

As the largest and most prestigious mega sport event in the world, the Games are known as a catalytic force in driving tourism.

After the forced closure of the resort for three months last year and over 18 months of uncertainty around travel, Tangalooma Island Resort has been busy refurbishing a swathe of hotel rooms in eager anticipation of returning interstate and international travellers in the months and years ahead.

Brisbane are the first host city to win an Olympic Games under new bidding procedures and the first to win unopposed since the 1984 Los Angeles Games.
