Majestic Monday

Today we spotted 6 very curious whales on the stunning waters of Moreton bay. As we departed from the Tangalooma jetty, the boat was filled with hopeful anticipation as we eagerly awaited our first whale sighting of the day.

We cruised through the clear blue waters and spotted our first juvenile whale, he also appeared to be coming straight for us! The excitement was palpable while he curiously rested beside the boat. Then he displayed several gentle tail slaps, almost to acknowledge his gasping audience.

The juvenile continued on his journey as the Tangalooma Jet glided through the waters. Just a few moments later, a female erupted in a large breach, shocking the onlookers onboard.

The female continued to display her strength and after several bellowing breaches, the audience and I were left in total awe of the power of this female. She was later joined by two other adults and a juvenile who continued to cruise comfortably alongside the jet.

Everyone on board had an absolutely incredible day, most of us still stunned by the beauty and strength of the humpback whale. I am excited to see what the rest of the week holds!
