Great day out Whale Watching

Westerly breezes are no issue for the crew here at Tangalooma having the largest dedicated whale watching vessel in Australia is a huge advantage also our location at Tangalooma puts us 30km in front of the competition. We made our way around the top of the island using the protection from the land and getting a great view of the lighthouse on the cape.

The first whales we saw were nothing short of SPECTACULAR!!! We observed over 50 tail slaps and peduncle throws with the first pair, we could see large splashes and white water from whales breaching in all directions.

We were spoiled for choice and although we had a great time with our first pod we decided to roll the dice and investigate some of this splashing further south. Upon our arrival we had a mature adult and its almost completely black juvenile shoot sky high on an epic breach! We couldn’t believe it when it happened again... and AGAIN!!!

We don’t expect these acrobatic displays until much later in the season, Everyone onboard felt spoilt with these spectacular giants slapping around the boat! There was 3 adults and 3 juveniles, bringing today's total sightings to 6.

Don’t take our word for it, come see for yourself! You won’t be disappointed!
