Alternative Transport Arrangements - Vehicle Barge
If you are arriving on the Moreton Island (MiCat) vehicle barge please note that the MiCat disembarks all passengers and vehicles at the Northern end of the Tangalooma Wrecks. Please drive off the barge and immediately turn right and head south, straight towards the resort. Only If you have booked one of our resort-managed holiday houses or Deep Blue Apartments you will instead need to turn left and take Middle Road and the Tangalooma By-pass track - which will take you to the southern end of the resort. On arrival please head straight to Reception at Tangalooma.
We do not recommend this service for any guests without a 4WD as it is close to a 30-minute walk to/from our Reception. The walk is along the beach and is only suitable to those who are prepared for the elements, have a reasonable level of fitness and appropriate luggage for the trek. The MiCat phone number is +61 7 3909 3333.
We do not provide transfers services for guests arriving on the MiCat vehicle, and the availability of luggage trolleys at the Resort entrances cannot be guaranteed.
The Moreton Island Taxi service can run services from the MiCat to Tangalooma Island Resort; please note that this must be pre-booked and is subject to a fee. They can be contacted using the details below:

Parking your Vehicle
If you are arriving with a 4WD, the Resort itself is vehicle-free however we provide free parking at both the Northern & Southern ends of the Resort. You can turn right off the barge and head straight to the northern carpark. If you need to park at the southern end you must turn left when driving off barge, turn right onto Middle Rd and then turn south onto the Tangalooma Bypass track.
Please note that both the North & South Car Parks are about a 1km (10-15 minute) walk from the Resort Reception and the availability of luggage trolleys at the Resort entrances cannot be guaranteed.
