Tangalooma Fishing Rules

To maintain the continuity within our company's environmental programs and from the protection for some species that inhabit the waters around the jetty, the following rules apply to all persons fishing or using the Tangalooma Jetty:

  • Fishing or netting is not permitted in the gazetted dolphin feeding area at any time

  • Shark fishing is not permitted (This includes Wobbegong Sharks)

  • Lures with multiple hooks are not permitted to be used from the jetty due to danger to other guests on the jetty (Plastic baits are acceptable)

  • Single hooks only are allowed to be used

  • Stainless steel hooks are not permitted to be used from the jetty

  • Live bait is not permitted to be used from the jetty

  • Continuous casting and winding is not permitted from the jetty

  • Braid or Braided lines are not permitted from the jetty

  • Guests are asked to report all injured birds and other marine creatures to the Eco Centre

  • All rubbish is to be place in the bins provided

Please be advised that all users of the jetty must follow the rules listed above. Breaches may result in individual persons being banned from using the jetty.
