Olympic fever comes to Tangalooma:

To celebrate the recent Winter Olympics and Paralympic games in Italy, the Brisbane Olympic committee joined forces with Australian Olympic and Paralympic athletes Ji Wallace and Korey Boddington to test out winter sports but Aussie style! Three exciting rounds of competition saw Ji and Korey tryout summer versions of the luge, snowboarding and the skeleton.

To begin their battle, both athletes took on the slippery super ripper slide imitating the winter Luge, while Ji put up a good fight, Korey was swift in taking home gold. Their next race saw them on the shoreline of the Sunshine Coast, where Korey took home another win as they challenged each other on the Fliteboard. The final competition brought them to the Tangalooma Desert to compete in sand tobogganing – the Aussie version of the infamous skeleton. Zooming down the sand headfirst the race was fast paced, thrilling and neck to neck. Korey Boddington only just beat Ji Wallace to the bottom of the dunes, making him the overall champion of this exciting competition.

Check out the blistering pace they set racing each other down the dunes:

We can’t wait for 2032 Olympics in Brisbane. Bring it on!
