Active whales burning off that blubber!

WOW! The Humpback whale activity levels were through the roof on today's whale watch cruise. The whale watch began with a breaching juvenile Humpback whale, which repeatedly breached more than 30 times next to the Jet! Once all the guests were breached out, we continued our search for more Humpback whale pods. We soon encountered some large adults, that continuously surfaced near the Jet. We then saw an incredible sight where one of the adult Humpbacks performed a dive under a Green Sea Turtle that was taking a breath of fresh air near Flinders Reef! The turtle must have felt shocked at the sight of the giant mammal swimming underneath it!!

Just when we thought the whale watch was over, we noticed some breaches and pec slaps in the distance. We approached closer and were amazed at the countless breaches, tail slaps, tail throws and pec slaps being performed by two adult Humpback whales - check out some of them in the video below!

In total, 14 Humpback whales, 5 green sea turtles and 2 inshore bottlenose dolphins were seen on today's whale watch.

Guests went home with lifelong memories of today's whale watch cruise, which was probably one of our best of the season so far!
