13 Humpback sightings on the Tangalooma Jet Today

The whale watch cruise began with 6 very relaxed Humpbacks. These Humpbacks soon broke into three different pods. Two of these Humpbacks stayed close to us, as they surfaced only meters from the bow of the Tangalooma Jet! The whales were sighted resting north of Moreton Island, in the calmer waters. They were slowly heading east towards open ocean waters.

When we finished observing these waters, we sighted a breaching whale on the horizon. This sight got us all excited so we headed towards the whale! Guests soon got the best whale watch experience of their lives, as this whale continuously breached just meters from us! It was most likely sending a message out to pods further away. Two whales soon approached the breaching whale and formed a pod of 3. We then continued to watch these gigantic mammals socializing amongst each other, just meters away from us.
