whale watching season kicks off at Moreton Island QLD

Wow! What a awesome and inspiring start to the Whale Watching season this year.

As we headed out towards Cape Moreton in Australia’s largest luxury whale watching vessel, complete with guests and staff full of anticipation, we spotted our first whales breaching out of the water off the Cape Moreton. Greeted by this absolutely spectacular site was so exciting  for all on board and the guests were amazed at how the whales seemed to greet us with mutual excitement. To see the whales back in our waters again was a very emotional and warming experience.

The whales who were heading North on their annual migration, were almost showing off by displaying many different behaviours, head lunges, tail throws, breaches and we even had a whale swim up so close to the boat that you could see his enormous body just below the surface of the water.

It was such a treat to see the whales display all of these  behaviours on our first whale watch and we expect that this is only a taste of what we will see this season. As the whale numbers are increasing, this year we can expect around 28,000 to migrate along the East Coast of Australia, we are going to be in for a bumper whale watching season.

Stay tuned for more blogs coming soon.
