Large Humpback Whale seen breaching at Flinders Reef

5 Humpback whales delighted guests on today's whale watch cruise, with stunning weather complementing their activity! The cruise began with a pod of 2 juvenile whales that headed west across the top end of Moreton Island, towards Moreton Bay. These whales gave us a spectacular show of pec slaps! They soon became elusive, as they performed many long deep dives. Once we were satisfied with viewing this pod of whales, we continued our journey to Flinders Reef.

Once we arrived at Flinders Reef, we were thrilled to see a fully grown adult Humpback whale performing many breaches! This 45 ton mammal created big splashes as it repeatedly landed on the surface of the water due to its breaching activity. As this whale breached, we noticed another two adult Humpbacks cruise past the front of the Tangalooma Jet.

At the end of the whale watch cruise, we cruised past Cape Moreton and guests were delighted to see 3 different pods of dolphins enjoying the waters off the Cape!
