Once in a lifetime whale watch!

Today’s Whale Watch was incredible! As we cruised throughout the waters of Moreton Bay Marine Park, we were delighted to see up to 10 Humpback Whales showing off their spectacular behaviours! Guests were thrilled to see breach after breach by multiple Humpback whales. Breaching is one of our favourite Humpback whale behaviours, as the whale fully leaps out of the water! It's incredible to witness, as they lift their 45 ton bodies out of the water. Another Humpback whale also performed multiple pectoral flipper slaps onto the surface of the water.

A once in a lifetime sighting happened soon after viewing all 10 Humpback whales, with 3 short-finned Pilot whales sighted near Flinders Reef! Out of 30 years of Premier Whale Watching, this is the first time we’ve come close to Pilot Whales while out on Whale Watch cruise. Pilot Whales are actually Dolphins, however they can be mistaken as a whale due to its large size and similar behaviours to that of a Whale. Their main diet consists of squid and octopus, and they can eat up to 45 kilograms a day!

The 2017 Whale Watches keep getting better and better!
