20 Humpback Whale Sightings in just 3 Hours

Today on the Tangalooma whale watch we were lucky enough to have 2 small calves that were out having a good time. We got to see some tail throws and some head lunges as they played in the waters around their mum.

We were also lucky enough to get to see one of the mothers do an amazing breach, one of the behaviours that makes the humpbacks such an exciting animal to watch. It was a quick show before they shortly departed back on their migration.

We were lucky enough to find a lot more whales on this amazing whale watch cruise today, as we saw 20 humpback whales out in the waters off the north coast of Moreton Island. We also had 2 pods of bottlenose dolphins that were playing around the whales as well as hunting a few fish that they were able to find in the area.
