Whales breach for the sky!

Sunday was a Fun day for those who joined the Tangalooma Whale watch today! With a great forecast and clear skies ahead everyone on board was eager to depart the Jetty for our daily Whale watching trip.

Tangalooma is such an excellent spot to depart for whale watching as we are on the leeward side of the island and we have a 30km head start on rival boats so we spend more time watching whales then we do travelling.

Today we didn’t need many whales to keep everyone thoroughly entertained, the first pod spotted looked to be a mature adult travelling with a smaller juvenile, they were diving shallow and breathing frequently so we gave them a bit of time before our patience was rewarded with 11 breaches !

We could see a couple of other pods pass by close but couldn’t pull ourselves away from these incredible performers! For anyone who hasn’t seen a 15 meter long, 45 tonne animal leap out of the water and spin before coming splashing down it's a sight not to be missed!

Today's sightings included 3 adults whales and 2 juveniles.
