Great start to the 2018 Whale Watching season

What a Fintastic Friday to start the 2018 whale watching season! The anticipation was through the roof as we boarded the Tangalooma flyer and disembarked in great sunny weather with a light southerly breeze helping us travel north.

We spotted our first whales, 2 juveniles just past Comboyuro point! These whales we observed today still have a long journey ahead of them so they were determined to travel as fast as possible. Which is understandable as some of these whales will travel as far as 16,000km to migrate and breed.

We were also joined on board by reporter Jessica Mumme from 7 News Queensland.

After a short encounter with a fast paced Minke whale we turned our attention to a whale travelling by itself that was putting on some excellent acrobatic displays pectoral slapping tail slapping and even breaching twice we had a great end to the day

With this being the beginning of the season we can't wait to see what 2018 has install.
