Jump in and explore the Southern end of pristine Moreton Island aboard our new ‘Southern Safari Tour’. Experience the raw and rugged beauty of our island coastline, traversing through the island’s main bypass road ‘Middle Road’, before landing onto the untouched and expansive Eastern Beach, where crisp white sand meets the fringes of the Pacific Ocean.

While you’re at it, pull up a seat at the renowned ‘Gutter Bar’, where you can feast upon a delicious island lunch including fresh seafood, sourced directly from local trawlers! This tour is bookable at the resort's Tours Desk on arrival.

Tangalooma’s ‘Desert Safari Tour'

Arguably one of the most popular activities from Tangalooma Island Resort is the sand tobogganing atop the dunes of the jaw-dropping Tangalooma Desert! This is a must-do for any guest travelling to Moreton Island on a day trip or overnight stay!

As the Desert Safari bus takes you through the island tracks, prepared to be amazed as you emerge from the bush surrounded island tracks into the striking and wide open sands of the Tangalooma Desert.

No one quite knows how the Tangalooma Desert came about… Some believe it was the result of a large forest fire that killed all of the vegetation in the area, while others think that maybe the desert is the site of a meteorite strike from thousands of years ago!

Either way, this tour offers up an exhilarating experience in one of the most unique natural landscapes on Moreton Island. You’re guaranteed to enjoy it. This tour is bookable at the resort's Tours Desk on arrival.

Tangalooma 4WD Hire
