The age and health of our Veterans was a major consideration when choosing a venue for the Tunnel Rats Reunion, as was the quality of venue facilities for a relaxing four-day trip. When given the choice of venues, many had no idea of what Tangalooma had to offer or where it actually was but they were intrigued by the lure of an adventure!
The majority of our attendees were overwhelmingly impressed. Our main criteria were not having to travel in coaches to and from functions and having all facilities in walking distance from accommodation. As such, Tangalooma fit the bill perfectly.

The feedback I have received since our Tangalooma trip has been “By far the best reunion ever”. This was the first time the boys have ever had media coverage and they were really chuffed. The ease of not having to travel from venue to accommodation also made our stay more manageable. The resort is so peaceful, and we had lots of compliments about the amazing staff and service.
Triumphs!!! The Dawn Service went off without a hitch and our whole group loved to see the other guests joining in the March with genuine interest. It was great to see children participating, getting poppies and rosemary, and asking questions. The media coverage, of course, was a big winner too, and to top it all off the farewell dinner in the Pavilion was very much above any other we’ve had in terms of venue quality and food.
Thank you all at Tangalooma making our last organised Reunion a very memorable one for all of us.
