Tangalooma Island Resort Day Trip

Why did you select Tangalooma Island Resort for your day out? How did the product suit your residents and what selection criteria did Tangalooma fulfil to make it the destination of choice?

I had visited Tangalooma Island Resort myself on a personal level and we had the most incredible time. Everything we experienced from the food to the activities was a positive. The beach is divine and the wildlife just made our experience incredible.

I knew from that visit that Tangalooma Island Resort was the best place to take our residents. Everything was easily accessible for our residents, we had access to beach wheelchairs if required and the staff were more than happy to assist at all times.

When we go on day trips we always have to ensure that wheelie walkers and wheelchairs can attend and be included. Tangalooma Island Resort is very flat and easy to get around.

How was the overall experience? Including comments on the team building activities & food experience.

The food was fantastic. Morning Tea, Lunch and Afternoon Tea was beautiful. The residents loved each meal and looked forward to the next. Unfortunately on the day the weather wasn’t our friend in the morning so it changed our plans around a little. The duty manager and the team from Tanga Tours were ever so helpful. They turned the situation that could have been very frustrating in to a very enjoyable experience for all.

Did Tangalooma help you overcome any challenges in the organisation of your event? If so, how?

Absolutely, there was several bumps in the road in our planning process and Sarah and Renee could not have done enough for us. A beautiful day that seamlessly is an example of that.

What were the “triumphs” or highlights from your event?

The Fishing Tour. Our residents from our Redland Bay and Cleveland Freedom Aged Care Community had the most incredible time on the fishing tour. Our Skipper from the day ensured everyone had a line in the water at all times. He also played 50’s and 60’s music through the boats music system which put a smile on their dials.

Did your day trip stand out from other events you’ve had in the past. Why?

Yes, in the past this has been too hard of an event to make happen. Having our residents have a day out on the water fishing isn’t something that comes easy. There is a lot of planning and preparation that needs to go into it. Sarah and Renee from the Events team were there to guide me through the whole process. Overall, the staff from the events team could not have been more helpful in our lead up to the day. They ensured every I was dotted and every T crossed. Everyone in attendance had the most incredible day on the island. The staff were friendly and helpful and always up for a chat or a laugh. The food was fresh and very tasty. The resort facilities are clean, user-friendly and accessible for all. Such an incredible resort and so close to Brisbane. Tangalooma Island Resort we will be back.
