Team Training Camp - June 2017
Why did you select Tangalooma Island Resort for your training camp? How did the product suit your guests and what selection criteria did Tangalooma fulfil to make it the destination of choice?
We chose Tangalooma as we were there last year and able to plan forward and know what to expect and get some great outcomes from the few days we had on the island. It was a great choice due to the variety of activities that you can do whilst on the island; trek around the island and see the sights, kayak, paddle board and swim around the pristine blue waters, run up and down the beach or bond as a team back at the resort.
How was the overall experience? Including comments on the activities & food experience.
Our stay was great, staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the food was fantastic. We had packed lunches for our treks around the island which included plenty of food and dinner was buffet style and was a big hit amongst the players and staff.
Did Tangalooma help you overcome any challenges in the organisation of your event? If so, how?
One of our main objectives was resilience and our long treks around the island help the team work together to achieve these outcomes, along with some team bonding and reflecting back at the resort.
What were the “triumphs” or highlights from your training camp?
We had a few, trekking 46 kms around the south of the island, trekking to and up the mountain – what a sight from the top! There was also a moment on the first day where our girls team had to carry 5 kayaks, 5 bikes, 5 paddle boards and 46 lunches 3kms up the beach – the way they got together to solve it all was a great team effort and setting them up for a good season on the field.
Did your training camp stand out from other events you’ve had in the past. If so why?
This was our 2nd year at Tangalooma and we were still able to do something different.
